Seniors in Mrs. Tuten's and Mrs. Howard's multicultural literature class represented CHS at a luncheon hosted by the Douglas Lions' Club on September 24th at the Douglas Golf & Country Club. The students are studying local business culture and enjoyed the opportunity to interact with and learn from local business and community leaders.
Darci and Chris Tuten shared a program on a recent trip to California, where they learned about natural resources, agribusiness, and the entertainment industry; highlights of the trip included learning from John and Gail Kautz, owners of Ironstone Vineyards, and meeting Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland.
The students prepared for the Lions' Club meeting two weeks in advance by having a mock luncheon at CHS hosted by guest speaker Elaine Tuten and local businesswoman Heidi Hines.
Mrs. Tuten stated, “The Lions Club hosted the kids, which we are grateful for. The students loved it and were extremely well-behaved as they represented CHS. I was super proud of them!”
